Twist Carbide Micro Drills are a universal twist drill bit which can be used for many materials and applications.  They are very popular for printed circuit board production, Jewellery, Watch making and Model Making etc.   The Drill bits are also used for small through holes, blind via hole drilling or via inter connectors, they allow improved inner hole wall quality, whilst maintaining good registration accuracy. These micro carbide PCB drill ideal for high density multilayer circuit boards. Printed circuit boards are usually made of fiberglass (FR4), which is highly abrasive and given the many hundreds or thousands of holes on modern circuit boards, requires the use of specialist carbide tungsten micro drill bits such as these The micro drill bits can be fitted with depth setting rings by special request.   This will allow you to set the plunge depth stop on your PCB drill press to a single value that will work for all PCB Drill bit diameters. These carbide micro drill bits will give far superior results when drilling holes in PCB laminate material such as FR4 Fibreglass, and will have a much longer life span than the equivalent steel drill bits. The twist micro Tungsten Carbide micro drill bits have a 1/8” (3.175mm) shank. These Micro carbide drill bits are compatible with all Fortex Drilling Routing Machines as well as CNC Centre machines when used with a collar. It is recommended that the PCB drill bits are fitted with depth setting rings. This will allow the plunge depth stop on your PCB drill press or CNC PCB protoyping machine to be to a single value that will work for all PCB drill bit diameters. This range of tungsten carbide drill bits can be purchased with or without depth ring collars.
