I’m all about herbal remedies. They work for me- they work for my kids- but can they work for my pets? I purchased an array of herbal medicines to keep on stock about a year ago, and just recently got the chance to try out this one. All of my cats have a kitty cold that comes seasonally. They start sneezing- often so terribly that they will begin to get nose bleeds from drying out their sinuses. Their eyes get watery. Their ears get clogged. They have every human symptom of a cold and I feel so helpless watching all FOUR of them battle out the sickness while I stand by and try to keep them well-fed and hydrated. This medicine comes with a dropper that you can use to directly feed to your pets, or mix in with their food. I used 2 drops per 5 ounce cat food serving with each of my cats. Within ONE- yes ONE magical serving, ALL of their symptoms disappeared! Yes- I’m amazed too! This medicine actually worked. Their eyes cleared up. Their runny noses completely disappeared. Their sneezing stopped- within ONE day. I have cats of all ages. A very old 14-year-old female. And a middle aged 8-year-old female. And two 1-year-old males. All took this medicine with absolutely no symptoms. No vomiting, no upset stomach, no side-effects at all. And, they were feeling much better within 24 hours. I’ve never had a kitty-cold disappear so fast, and I will definitely be going back to this magical herbal remedy in the future. This medicine is made with a mix of herbs and alcohol. It has a very strong smell, but a very mild taste. With that being said most animals have a stronger sense of smell than humans and this medicine would be very hard to feed them. If you’re going to use a dropper, I suggest mixing it in with 10 parts water, 1 part medicine. This will eliminate most of the smell and all of the taste. I tried mixing this into my cat’s water dish and they wouldn’t drink. On the other hand once I mixed it in with some fishy pate style food, they had no problem eating it up.I have multiple pets and have used similar medicines on most of them. Here are some tips for each breed:Dogs will eat this medicine easily if it’s mixed into some pureed meat or canned dog food that they enjoy.Cats will eat this medicine if it’s in a fishy-smelling canned food that will hide the smell.Ferrets will almost always eat this medicine if it’s mixed into pureed chicken or bananas.Small pets can have it mixed in with pureed fruit (remember a VERY small serving for small pets- there IS alcohol in this).Guinea Pigs and Rabbits can eat it with pureed vegetables- sweet corn and sweet potatoes seem to work well.Birds have been the hardest ones to get to eat medicines like this. I will mix it into their water dish, and I’ll also try feeding them it mixed into apple sauce or pureed sweet corn.I was a skeptic when it came to herbal pet medicines, but I’m definitely a believer now. I’m not a huge fan of putting unnatural chemicals into my body, my kids’ bodies, or my animals’ bodies. And I’m happy I found a medicine that works without using unnatural substances. I HIGHLY recommend keeping this on hand for all pet-cold and cough related issues. At the sign of sneezing or coughing or a running nose- administer this and you’ll definitely be happy you did. FIVE star quality product.
